Heathlands Care Home is a modern, purpose-built residential care home set within private landscaped gardens in a pleasant area of Chingford.

Comfortable rooms

Heathlands has 84 generously sized ensuite bedrooms spread over three floors. Each is equipped with an adjustable automatic bed with a handset control for your comfort, a wardrobe, lockable bedside cabinet, chest of drawers/dressing table, cosy armchair, a nurse-call system, TV and free Wi-Fi. To help you feel at home from day one we encourage you and your family to personalise your room with photos as well as favourite ornaments and small items of furniture.

Many of our bright, comfortable rooms have large windows with attractive views, and some ground- floor rooms also have doors that open out onto our secure garden. If you have green fingers you can create your own potted garden or hang baskets filled with favourite flowers.

Our nursing residents live on the ground floor, while our specialist dementia units on the first and second floors offer additional expert care and security for residents who are living with dementia. Our staff are highly trained and experienced, and our genuine passion for caring for people is very much appreciated by our residents and their relatives.

We understand the importance of a welcoming environment and the impact it has on our residents’ emotional wellbeing, so in addition to all the advanced facilities you would expect from a modern care facility, we are proud to have created a warm and homely feel that you will experience from the moment you walk through the door.

Care and laundry services

Each floor has its own team of nursing and care staff that are on hand 24/7, while our dedicated teams of housekeepers support them – and you – with a high-quality cleaning and laundry service.

We use a variety of specialist equipment to help us to help you move around safely, including lifting aids, and offer a choice of pressure-relieving mattresses and cushions.

Communal areas

Each floor has its own spacious dining room that is laid out with a choice of small tables or space for large groups to eat together, and a lounge where you can gather for activities or to socialise. The lounges are comfortably furnished with snug armchairs, a TV and plenty of games and books, and can be arranged for you to sit in a group and chat with friends or to give you quiet space if you prefer. Other seating areas around the building give you the choice to join in the social atmosphere or tuck yourself away and read in peace!

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the home.

Accessible home

Our rooms and corridors are large and airy, allowing plenty of space for wheelchairs. Our home also has lift access between all floors.

Landscaped garden

The lovely, enclosed garden at Heathlands is fully wheelchair accessible with plenty of seating space for you and your guests to enjoy on warm days. It’s also a favourite place to hold activities and play games in the summer, or simply relax and soak up the sunshine.

Decorated with calming murals, our roof terrace is particularly popular with many of our residents who are living dementia. Whether you prefer to sit in the sun or exercise your green fingers via a spot of container gardening, you can relax outdoors in comfort and security.

Pamper time

As our residents like to look their best, our popular hair salon, ‘A Cut Above’, provides regular on-site hair services.
