Leanne is a
familiar and well-loved face here at Heathlands. After joining us eight years
ago, she spent several years as a care and then senior care assistant before
moving over to administration. She began helping with care plans in the office and,
from there, it was a short step to administrative assistant and then up to administrator.

It’s a busy,
fast-moving role that involves responding to phone enquires, interacting with
residents and relatives, healthcare workers and other visitors, as well as supporting
home manager Ronni Alarilla with prospective resident show-arounds.

Interestingly,
care wasn’t Leanne’s first choice as a career. Chingford born and bred, she worked
as deputy manager of a local pub, eventually obtaining her own publican’s license.
The continual meet-and-greet with customers helped her overcome her shyness but
the pressure of working seven days a week meant that she had no time for family
or friends.

She started working at Heathlands on the
recommendation of a friend who already worked here. “My parents said I’d last just
two weeks in the role and look at me now!” she laughs. “Seriously, I love the
care sector and simply can’t see myself anywhere else. I really enjoy talking
to residents and relatives and we have a close-knit team. We’re all just like
one big family.”

Outside work Leanne loves horse riding and spending time with partner Adam and 10-year-old Taylor.
